Dear FADA Members,

I am delighted to share with you the recent endeavours of the Federation of Automobile Dealers Associations (FADA) as we continue to advocate for the interests of our industry and foster collaboration among stakeholders.

In line with our commitment to promoting dialogue and exchange within the automotive community, FADA actively participated in the 1st ever Bharat Mobility Global Expo organized by the Government of India. We set up a dedicated lounge to welcome dealers attending the Bharat Mobility Expo, further facilitating networking and engagement opportunities.

Additionally, FADA led a 24-member delegation to the NADA Convention 2024, where our delegates had the privilege of visiting Subaru & KIA Towbin dealerships in Las Vegas. We organized the inaugural International Relations Meet & Greet session, providing a platform for fruitful discussions over high tea. Furthermore, all delegates had the opportunity to participate in the International Relations Round Table and the esteemed NADA Welcome Reception Dinner. More details are covered in this edition of the Journal.

In another significant development, FADA Academy signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Bhartiya Skill Development University in Jaipur, paving the way for the establishment of a Bachelor of Vocation program in Automotive studies. This collaboration underscores our commitment to fostering skill development and nurturing talent within the automotive sector. Initially a batch of 30 students will be given training for 1.5 year along with 1.5 years of classroom coaching. The training will happen in dealerships in and around Jaipur. Along with the training, a stipend will also be given to them.

I am also pleased to report on the proactive engagement of FADA's regional teams in addressing industry challenges. The FADA Maharashtra team, under the leadership of Chairperson Mr. Sachin Mahajan, met with the Nashik Commissioner of Police to discuss longstanding issues affecting the auto retail sector. Their constructive dialogue and collaborative approach resulted in actionable steps being proposed for immediate implementation.

Similarly, automobile dealers in Bhopal, led by FADA Madhya Pradesh State Chairperson Mr. Ashish Pande, held a productive meeting with Transport Minister Shri Uday Pratap Singh. The Minister's receptiveness and willingness to engage with FADA MP underscored the importance of our ongoing advocacy efforts. We have submitted representations outlining our concerns and look forward to continued collaboration with the Ministry.

Members of the FADA Jharkhand Chapter, led by Chairperson Mr. Govind P Mewar, held a productive meeting with Transport Secretary Mr Kripa Nand Jha and NIC officers. The Transport Secretary has shown willingness to adopt CMVR rules in Jharkhand and has directed NIC to facilitate the process. Additionally, various other industry concerns were addressed during the discussion. This positive development can be attributed to the successful organization of Vyapar Jharkhand. Mr. Jha, who graced the event as Chief Guest, was comprehensively briefed on the advantages to the State exchequer and the enhancement of customer satisfaction and ease of doing business through the implementation of the amended new Central Motor Vehicle Rules, 1989.

As we navigate the evolving landscape of the automotive industry, FADA remains steadfast in our commitment to serving the interests of our members and fostering a conducive environment for growth and innovation. I extend my gratitude to all FADA members for their unwavering support and dedication.

FADA Gujarat collaborated with the Gujarat Road Safety Authority, Government of Gujarat to commemorate Road Safety Month and organized a Road Safety Awareness program. The event featured an award distribution ceremony and special performances by school students focusing on road safety. We thank Mr. Pranav Shah, Governing Council member who lead this initiative.

FADA Delhi under the leadership of Mrs Garima Misra, is excited to announce the upcoming edition of Vyapar in Delhi, themed 'Driving Success, Together', scheduled for March 4, 2024, at Holiday Inn Aerocity, New Delhi. Vyapar aims to address key aspects of the auto retail industry, including challenges and opportunities, sustainability strategies, and preparedness for emerging technological advancements and new fuel paradigms. Incidently, the first Vyapar event took place in Delhi in 2017!

As FADA Chapters nationwide gear up for similar events, I extend a heartfelt invitation to our dealer friends in Delhi and neighbouring states to join us in large numbers to make this event a resounding success. Such gatherings provide a platform for policymakers and industry stakeholders to engage in meaningful dialogue, understand challenges, and collaborate on solutions beneficial to all parties involved. Additionally, they offer dealers invaluable opportunities to learn from each other's best practices and strengthen industry relationships.

Let's come together to drive success and innovation in the automotive retail sector. Your participation and insights will contribute greatly to our collective journey towards excellence.

Looking forward to seeing you at Vyapar Delhi! Together, let us continue to drive positive change and propel the automotive sector towards a sustainable and prosperous future.

Warm regards,

Manish Raj Singhania

President - FADA
